Averages are based on responses from Maine Biofuel suppliers to this month's
pricing survey. Due to rapidly changing fuel market prices and a limited sample
size, we cannot guarantee that these averages will reflect the prices in your

On-Farm Biodiesel
Production
Corundel Enterprises in Corinna will pilot on-farm biodiesel
production from oilseed crops. Oilseed crops will include sunflower, canola, and
camelina, a little known oilseed that grows well on poor soil. Watch for more in
the June e-newsletter.
Maine Partnership
Wins Grant for Cellulosic Ethanol Production
The University of Maine-Orono, Red Shield Environmental, and
Safe Handling, among others, have won a $30 million grant to produce cellulosic
ethanol from pulp waste. Safe Handling will distribute the ethanol product. Stay

CN Brown to open
B-5 pump in Wilton
The fuel oil company, which currently operates a biodiesel pump
in Poland, will open a second pump on May 5th in Wilton.
