Become A Participating Energy Advisor
The Home Energy Savings Program offers the following benefits to Participating Energy Advisors:
- Prospects from statewide marketing effort
- Listing on our website
- Free energy modeling software and training
- Free building science technical support (phone and field-based)
- Cash incentives for homeowners
- Maine PACE Financing for homeowners in select towns (PDF)
- Other professional training as available
TYPICAL INVESTMENTS
We're looking for professionals with extensive experience in auditing, weatherizing, heating or other home energy fields and who have certification in their trade. Typical investments are:
- Building Performance Institute (BPI) training, 2-week class $2,000
- Limited Energy Auditor Technician Certification $100
- Blower door equipment $3,000
- Infrared camera (optional) $4,000
- Combustion safety test equipment $1,000
- Insurance costs vary
- Insulation equipment costs vary
