Low-interest Loans for Small Businesses
Efficiency Maine provides loans up to $35,000, currently at 1% APR for up to 5 years, to help small businesses fund approved energy conservation measures of all types: electrical equipment including lighting, machinery, HVAC and refrigeration; heating equipment, regardless of fuel type and insulation. An energy audit identifying recommended energy efficiency measures is required.
Loan processing costs are paid by the applicant and may be added to the project cost. Loan repayment terms will vary depending upon project and loan amount, but closing costs are capped at $500.
Due to limited funding, low-interest loans are not available to schools, hospitals, private residences, or businesses with residential components, such as apartment houses, camps, or condominiums.
