Special Energy-Efficiency Incentives for Maine Schools (K-12)
Apply Now to Cash-in on Double Incentives for Energy-Efficient Retrofits
 Because of the overwhelming response by School Districts all over Maine, Efficiency Maine has moved up the deadline to apply for double-rate incentives under the School Budget Booster Initiative to July 1.
Fill out the incentive application that corresponds to your project's needs (below), as well as the school qualification form, and we’ll double your incentives when we review the information. If you don’t find your project in these applications, please call 1-866-376-2463 to discuss your custom project—efficient electrical equipment of any kind may qualify for incentives. We’ll be happy to help you evaluate the potential energy savings for your project.
Even without this special initiative, schools will see real benefits from retrofitting with new energy-efficient technologies: they'll save on energy costs for years to come, while gaining a more comfortable and better-lit environment—not to mention setting an example of financial and environmental stewardship for our kids.
So don't give up if you miss the July 1 deadline:
regular incentives will still be available.
Facts
- Program start date: March 1, 2008.
- Program end date (NEW): July 1, 2008.
- Funding is limited so act now.
- Equipment purchased before March 1, 2008 will not qualify for special incentives.
- All applications must be submitted by close of business July 1, 2008 to be eligible.
- Designed for improvements to existing buildings. New construction is not eligible.
- Incentives are limited to 100% of project cost.
- Free technical assistance is available
