Residential Fundraiser Program
The Efficiency Maine Residential Fundraiser Program offers an opportunity to Maine-based non-profit organizations to raise money while raising consumer awareness about the benefits of energy efficient compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs). The program will pay the instant rebate in effect at that time directly to the participating store of your choice for each package sold.
Working with an Efficiency Maine participating retail partner, any non-profit organization with 501 c 3 status in the state of Maine or licensed to do business in the state of Maine is eligible for this program. All participants in the fundraising effort are required to meet the eligibility standards already in place for the CFL Incentive Program. All products offered for sale must be ENERGY STAR® rated, and the participating retail partner must be a member in good standing of the Efficiency Maine Residential Program.
Efficiency Maine’s goal is to educate Maine consumers about the benefits of energy efficient lighting products. To that end, partnerships with non-profit fundraising groups offer the program an opportunity to reach even more Maine consumers. As with most one-on-one solicitation programs, Efficiency Maine asks participating non-profits to gather sales information for each bulb package sold and be responsible for the delivery of the product. The non-profit group is also asked to distribute educational information about Efficiency Maine and its purpose to each consumer reached in the fundraising effort. This material is supplied to the non-profit at no cost. Efficiency Maine does require that each fundraising group schedule a training session for all participants involved in the selling process.
If your group is interested in pursuing the fundraising program, please contact Richard Bacon, Efficiency Maine Residential Lighting Program Manager at (207) 287-8349. Please be ready to share the following: a contact person name, mailing address, phone number, email and projected start date. The Program Manager will explain the program elements and schedule the mandatory training session for those involved in the selling process. The Program Manager will also share a list of participating CFL retailers in the group’s selling area. It is the responsibility of the non-profit group to coordinate all product inventory and pricing directly with the retailer. If a retailer is not available in the immediate area, the Efficiency Maine Program will make every effort to forge a partnership with a new retailer in the trading area.
Efficiency Maine reserves the right to limit its participation with regard to both incentive amount and promotion time period.
