$1,500 Heat Pump Rebate
More than 45,000 heat pumps have been installed in Maine homes and businesses over the past five years. They are the most popular heating system across all of Efficiency Maine’s programs because they offer highly efficient heating, air conditioning, and dehumidification. Efficiency Maine offers rebates of up to $1,500 for residential heat pumps.
What is a Heat Pump?
Heat pumps are heating and cooling units that are able to extract heat from outdoor air (even when it is very cold) and deliver heat into homes.
Increased Use of Heat Pumps Results in Increased Savings
Heat pump users who previously heated their homes solely with conventional boilers and furnaces can use a heat pump to successfully offset fuel usage and significantly reduce overall energy costs. Users who limit the use of their heat pumps—treating them as a backup system—do not offset as much heating fuel use, and therefore limit their savings. So the more you push your heat pump, the less your inefficient primary system will need to run.
Heat Pump Benefits:
- Low-cost heating
- Provide air conditioning in the summer
- Easy to retrofit into existing homes
- Improved comfort in homes
Installing a heat pump can cost as little as $29/month with available rebates and financing at 4.99% APR over 10 years. That can be less than the cost of the energy you’ll save.
