Efficiency Maine Offers up to $600 Rebate on DIY Home Weatherization Products to Help Mainers Stay Warm and Save Money This Winter
Augusta, Maine – November 2, 2026 – Today Efficiency Maine launched a special promotion that will reduce the cost of winter weatherization products for Maine homeowners and tenants to help them stay warm and manage their heating bills during the upcoming winter heating season.
Efficiency Maine announced it has launched a limited-time “DIY” rebate, which will reimburse Maine homeowners and tenants 50% of the purchase price for eligible weatherization and insulation products, such as weather stripping, door sweeps, window and door caulk, spray foam sealant, window insulation shrink kits, window inserts, pipe insulation, duct insulation and sealant, tank wrap, and foam board insulation. The promotion covers documented, eligible purchases made from November 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027.
Complete promotion details, a list of eligible products, and a claim form can be found on the Efficiency Maine website at DIY Winter Prep Rebate – Efficiency Maine.
“With the price of heating oil at an all-time high, Mainers are looking for affordable ways to keep warm and manage their costs,” said Michael Stoddard, executive director of the Efficiency Maine Trust. “In addition to the core rebates that we offer for longer-term solutions, such as professionally installed insulation and heat pumps, we are going to promote, for a limited time, rebates on some basic, low-cost upgrades that they can install themselves with the right materials from a local hardware store.”
In addition to this special offer, homeowners and renters are reminded that they can access helpful online resources, such as the Efficiency Maine webpage summarizing Energy & Money Saving Tips and calculator tools to help consumers compare the annual heating costs of different heating systems and approximate the costs of heating water for a typical family.
Consumers also can download a more extensive 28-page Energy Efficiency Tips booklet that provides suggestions for all seasons. To request a printed copy, email info@efficiencymaine.com or call 866-376-2463. Another useful resource available to them is the Winter Heating Guide recently released by the Maine Department of Energy Resources.
Homeowners and tenants also can find information about insulation rebates up to $8,600 from Efficiency Maine here.
