Efficiency Maine offers low-cost and no-cost energy upgrades and electric vehicle rebates for eligible Mainers.
Individuals have two ways to confirm eligibility. The first way is to verify participation in one of the following programs: Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) for food assistance, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) for cash assistance, or MaineCare for medical insurance coverage. Participants in these programs may be eligible for enhanced incentives on heat pumps, insulation, electric vehicles, heat pump water heaters, and other energy-saving devices. The second way to confirm eligibility is to show that assessed value of the individual’s home and property fall below specific amounts. These individuals are eligible for enhanced incentives only on heat pumps and insulation.
