Below is a list of all battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) with trim levels that are eligible for an Efficiency Maine NEW vehicle rebate when purchased or leased from a Participating Dealer or directly from the manufacturer. As of November 16, 2024, Efficiency Maine EV rebates are only available to Qualified Low-Income Mainers.
To qualify for an Efficiency Maine rebate, a vehicle must have a price of no more than the amounts listed below, where the price is defined as total MSRP or “sticker price,” including options and accessories, before destination/delivery charges. No other discounts, deductions, credits, or rebates are to be counted in the eligibility determination calculation:
a. $80,000 in the case of an eligible pickup truck or commercial van with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 6,000 pounds or greater; b. $55,000 for all other eligible vehicles.
Note that USED vehicles do not need to be on this list to qualify for the Efficiency Maine used vehicle rebate. USED vehicles must have a final purchase price no more than $40,000, at least 20 miles of electric range, and be purchased from a Participating Dealer.
