Opportunities
Funding Opportunity Notice (FON) for School Lighting Retrofits
Efficiency Maine is seeking applications for school lighting retrofits projects. This initiative offers higher incentives than typically provided under the Commercial and Industrial Prescriptive Initiatives (CIPI), with the intent of accelerating the conversion to efficient LED lighting in Maine’s public PreK-12 schools. Incentives
Interior and Exterior LED Lighting
- Efficiency Maine and your Qualified Partner will calculate how much your project could save in one year. The project’s incentive will be $0.26 per kWh of first year savings up to 50% of measure cost.
- For a project that’s estimated to save 10,000 kWh in the first year, the incentive could be $2,600.

Small Business LED Lighting
- 65% of total measure cost for qualifying interior and exterior lighting
- Small business customers must have an electric account labeled “Small General Service” (SGS), “General Service” (GS), or “Medium General Service” (MGS) with an average monthly peak electrical demand under 100kW.

Distributor Pathway Interior and Exterior Lighting
- Efficiency Maine offers point-of-purchase discounts up to $90 on eligible LED lamps from participant distributors. Incentive amount depends on the specific distributor.
