Electric Vehicle Rebates Suspended
On November 16, 2024, Efficiency Maine suspended electric vehicle rebates for all customers except qualifying low-income Mainers. Customers must have purchased or leased an eligible vehicle prior to 12:00 a.m. ET on November 16, 2024, in order to receive an Efficiency Maine rebate.
This program suspension applies to the following customer categories:
- Any-income customers
- Moderate-income customers
- Businesses and organizations
- Governmental entities, tribal governments, and 2-1-1 nonprofits
Efficiency Maine will continue to offer EV rebates for qualifying low-income Mainers. The EV rebate amounts for these customers remain unchanged:

| NEW Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) | $7,500 |
| NEW Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) | $3,000 |
| USED BEV or PHEV | $2,500 |
