• over 100 kWh battery capacity: $14,000

How to Get a Rebate When Purchasing a Vehicle From a Dealership

1. Apply for preapproval for a vehicle rebate.
2. Receive preapproval letter from Efficiency Maine via email (processing may take up to five business days).
3. Purchase an off-peak charger through Efficiency Maine for each van.
4. Go to a Participating Dealership with the preapproval letter and off-peak charger order confirmation email.
5. Purchase the vehicle with the Efficiency Maine rebate applied as a time-of-sale discount (amounts listed above).
6. Install the off-peak charger where the vehicle will be regularly parked and connect it to Wi-Fi within 90 days of the vehicle purchase. Check out the vendor locator tool if you’re looking for an installer.
7. Use the off-peak charger to avoid charging the vehicle from 5:00-9:00p.m. on weekdays. Retain ownership and registration of the vehicle in Maine for at least 36 months.

How to Get a Rebate for a Vehicle Purchased Direct-from-Manufacturer (Rivian ONLY)

1. Apply for preapproval for a vehicle rebate.
2. Receive preapproval letter from Efficiency Maine via email (processing may take up to five business days).
3. Purchase an off-peak charger through Efficiency Maine for each van.
4. Purchase the vehicle directly from the manufacturer.
5. Submit online rebate claim form within 60 days of vehicle purchase date. Please allow up to 6 weeks for rebate processing.
6. Install the off-peak charger where the vehicle will be regularly parked and connect it to the internet within 90 days of the vehicle purchase. Check out the vendor locator tool if you’re looking for an installer.
7. Use the off-peak charger to avoid charging the vehicle from 5:00-9:00p.m. on weekdays. Retain ownership and registration of the vehicle in Maine for at least 36 months.

Eligibility 

Vehicle

• The following models are eligible:
  • Chevrolet BrightDrop
  • Ford E-Transit
  • Mercedes Benz eSprinter
  • Ram ProMaster EV
  • Rivian Commercial Van
• Vehicle must be for commercial use only, not personal use.
• New vehicles only; used vehicles are not eligible.

• Note: Vehicles receiving this enhanced rebate are not subject to the $80,000 MSRP cap applicable to vehicles receiving the standard Efficiency Maine EV rebate.

Participant

• A business or nonprofit in “Good Standing,” authorized to do business in the State of Maine, and with an office in the State of Maine.
  • Good Standing can be verified with the Maine Secretary of State’s Corporate Name Search.
  • Eligible types of entities: business corporation, nonprofit corporation, limited liability company, limited partnership, limited liability partnership
• Participants must purchase an off-peak charger for each rebated vehicle and must activate the charger (connect to Wi-Fi) and install it where the vehicle will be regularly parked within 90 days of vehicle purchase.
  • Entities that are unable to install an off-peak charger where each vehicle will be regularly parked are ineligible for this rebate.
