The chargers operate normally during off-peak hours and automatically pause charging during peak hours (5:00 to 9:00 p.m. weekdays). If you need to charge during peak hours, you can override the default for the day.

How To Get A Discounted Off-Peak Charger

  6. Get your charger installed. The charger does not need to be installed by an Efficiency Maine Residential Registered Vendor, but if you’re looking for an installer, click here.
  7. Download the Emporia App and start using your off-peak charger.
  8. Plug in your EV whenever it’s convenient, knowing it won’t charge during peak hours (5:00 – 9:00 p.m. weekdays) unless you override the schedule for the day.
