Discounted Mini-Split Heat Pump Training at Eastern Maine Community College
Eastern Maine Community College is now offering subsidized Mini-Split Heat Pump training. Businesses may receive up to a 50% discount on the cost of training. The subsidy is available to employees that need training in mini-split heat pump installation and service. The course consists of 60 hours of classroom and lab work, and is designed for Licensed Heating Oil and Gas Technicians, HVAC Technicians, or Licensed Electricians.
The training will provide an expanded level of knowledge and practice to install and service single zone mini-split heat pumps. Topics to be covered are basic heat pump/refrigeration cycle, electricity, and heat pump mechanical, electrical, and electronic components. Lab activities include electrical wiring and troubleshooting, piping techniques, leak testing, evacuation, charging, refrigerant recovery, plus operation and maintenance of mini-split heat pumps.
