Lighting Upgrades Can Help Your Business Save Energy and Money

For businesses trying to save money on electricity, a lighting upgrade is a good place to start. By upgrading to LED lighting and installing lighting controls, a business owner can save energy and money while enhancing productivity and improving workplace aesthetics. Efficiency Maine’s Commercial and Industrial Prescriptive Program offers incentives to Maine businesses that install lighting and lighting control measures. The program offers incentives based on how much energy your project is estimated to save in the first year. For example, one Maine business owner in Augusta installed 25 new LED interior luminair kits, with an estimated savings of 7,288 kWh in the first year. This project received an incentive of $2,040. 

Eligible lighting products include LED retrofit kits, lighting controls, and new LED fixtures for both interior and exterior applications. Along with the standard LED upgrades, the program offers incentives for business-specific lighting products like refrigerated case lighting fixtures and parking lot lighting fixtures.

Efficiency Maine also discounts screw-in LED fixtures directly through participating distributors. The discounts are applied to the products on the shelf, making for quick and easy savings for customers.
