Shoppers can now really see the bargains while antiquing in Cornish
When Steve Smith bought the building that houses Smith Company Antique Shop in 1996, fluorescent lighting was state-of-the-art. The new LED lighting he recently installed with help from Efficiency Maine’s Small Business Initiative, is a significant improvement: they’ll save him an estimated $525 per year on lighting costs while improving visibility in his shop.
“The savings are nice, but the improvement in the light quality is unreal!” – Steve Smith, Owner
A local contractor, Field Electric, performed the free no-obligation lighting assessment, provided estimated project costs and savings, and installed sleek new LED strip lighting throughout the shop.
“They’re quiet—none of the hum I used to hear while my old (fluorescent) lights warmed up,” says Smith.
The Small Business Initiative is only available to small businesses in select regions. To find out more about the program or if your small business might be eligible, click here.
