Insulation Rebates

Find Your Comfort Zone with Proper Air Sealing & Insulation

Many Maine homes are under-insulated and drafty. This wastes energy and makes your home less comfortable. Proper air sealing and insulation can reduce long-term energy costs, providing an energy budget and an environment you can be comfortable with.

Receive up to $3,500 in rebates and low-interest financing for eligible air sealing and insulation projects.

Insulation Rebates

Did You Know:
Stopping drafts in your basement reduces heat loss out of your attic.

Cold winter air pours into basements through cracks and holes in and around basement walls. As the air warms, it seeks pathways up through plumbing and electrical chases, along chimney gaps upward toward your attic, and escapes from your home with your heating dollars. Sealing and insulating basement walls stops the flow of air into your basement and reduces the upward flow of air out of you house. Not only will tightening up the basement save money, but it will also help make managing humidity easier, and lower draftiness throughout your home.

Benefits of Better Home Insulation:

  • Reduced energy demand
  • Increased comfort and noise reduction
  • Cost savings

Take Action with an Energy Assessment:

During a home energy assessment, an energy auditor or insulation contractor will be able to recommend appropriate insulation levels and tell you which insulation materials might work best in certain locations. For example, cellulose insulation is a popular and relatively inexpensive choice for attic insulation. Many homeowners choose rigid foam or spray foam insulation for rim joists and basement walls. Insulating basement walls to at least two feet below grade is highly cost-effective. Consult with an energy advisor to best determine what insulation materials will work in your home.
