Limited-Time Electric Vehicle Incentives for Fleet Vehicles and Commercial Vans

Incentives up to $8,000

• For light-duty vehicles (cars/pickups), purchaser must have a fleet of 5 or more vehicles registered in Maine. For work vans, businesses of any size are eligible
  • Organizations with fewer than 5 vehicles registered in Maine can still qualify for the business and organization EV incentives
• Limited to the first 50 cars and the first 50 work vans reserved on a first-come, first-served basis
• Limit of 10 incentives per entity
• Funds will only be reserved after pre-approval has been granted and Efficiency Maine has received an order confirmation showing the vehicle has been ordered

In addition to Efficiency Maine’s incentive, your organization may be eligible for a federal tax credit.

Efficiency Maine Incentive Eligibility 

Efficiency Maine offers two ways to take advantage of our electric vehicle incentives on qualifying electric vehicles:

1. Instant discount at a Participating EV Dealership
2. Rebate after purchasing or leasing an EV directly from a manufacturer

Electric Vehicle

• Vehicles must be for business and not personal use. Vehicles intended for personal use are eligible for the standard (individual) incentive.
• Vehicles must have a price of no more than the amounts listed below, where the price is defined as total MSRP or “sticker price,” including options and accessories, minus destination/delivery charges, and no other discounts, deductions, credits or rebates are to be counted in the eligibility determination calculation:
  • $73,000, in the case of an eligible pickup truck or commercial van with an EPA-rated range of 300 miles or more;
  • $65,000, in the case of an eligible pickup truck or commercial van with an EPA-rated range of less than 300 miles; or
  • $50,000, for all other eligible vehicles.

• Must be a business or nonprofit entity in “Good Standing,” authorized to do business in Maine and with an office in the state

Timeframe

• If purchased from a Participating EV Dealership, incentive must be provided as an instant discount at the time of purchase or lease
• If purchased directly from a manufacturer, rebate claim form must be submitted online within 45 days of EV purchase or lease date

5. Submit online rebate claim form within 45 days of EV purchase or lease date
