- For light-duty vehicles (cars/pickups), purchaser must have a fleet of 5 or more vehicles registered in Maine.
- Organizations with fewer than 5 vehicles registered in Maine can still qualify for the standard business and organization EV incentives.
- For work vans, organizations of any size are eligible.
- These enhanced incentives are limited to the first 50 cars and the first 50 work vans reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Limit of 10 incentives per entity
- Funds will only be reserved after pre-approval has been granted and Efficiency Maine has received an order confirmation showing the vehicle has been ordered.

In addition to Efficiency Maine’s incentive, organizations may be eligible for a federal tax credit.
Efficiency Maine Incentive Eligibility
Electric Vehicle
- Vehicle must be for business and not personal use.
- Vehicle must have a price of no more than the amounts listed below, where the price is defined as total MSRP or “sticker price,” including options and accessories, minus destination/delivery charges, and no other discounts, deductions, credits or rebates are to be counted in the eligibility determination calculation:
- $80,000 in the case of an eligible pickup truck or commercial van
- $50,000, for all other eligible vehicles.
Participant
- For light duty vehicles (cars/pickups), purchaser must have a fleet of 5 or more vehicles registered in Maine. For work vans, organizations of any size are eligible.
- Must be a business or nonprofit entity in “Good Standing,” authorized to do business in Maine and with an office in the state.
Timeframe
- If purchased from a Participating EV Dealership, incentive must be provided as an instant discount at the time of purchase or lease.
- If purchased directly from a manufacturer, rebate claim form must be submitted online within 60 days of EV purchase or lease date.
